Easily reached from the A404 M4/M40 link road via the A4155 through Bourne End, or from the A4094 over Cookham Bridge if you are approaching from Maidenhead, this store was the first out-of-town Maidenhead Aquatics after relocating the original business from King Street in the town centre in 1984.

Since opening over twenty years ago, this founding branch has attracted a very large number of happy regular customers and all of our senior staff can claim to have served many happy hours on the shop floor. Not much has changed since those early days and a range of community species, plus some specialities such as brackish water fish are available here. Marines are well represented by two systems in the centre of the shop housing invertebrates and fish and all stock is selected from a conveniently nearby leading wholesaler. This store has witnessed some exciting changes to the marine hobby and this is reflected in the choice of livestock, with a bias toward reef-friendly fishes and captive-bred livestock evident. A selection of quality fancy goldfish is offered from high-grade Ryukin and Ranchu to the more familiar Comets and Shubunkin suitable for less ambitious aquaria.

The pond enthusiast is also catered for with a select range of Koi and a good range of pondfish housed in the pond section which greets customers entering the store. The pond section is well provisioned and a range of pre-formed pools and waterfalls accompanies the well-stocked shelves inside to provide everything for the fishkeeper. The next chapter for this branch is a planned relocation within the garden centre complex which would bring this store up to the higher technical specifications enjoyed by newer branches. Rest assured though that the same time-honoured principles that have made this store so popular with customers and have spawned a world-class chain of aquatic retailers will never change.
