How long have you been keeping fish?

10 Years.

What was your first aquarium and what fish did you keep in it?

My first fish tank was a small hexagonal tank with a goldfish.

What was it that got you hooked on fishkeeping?

The vast range of fish and the multiple colours and sizes they range in.

What was it that made you decide to turn your fishkeeping hobby into a career?

The opportunity to learn more about all areas of fishkeeping was the main reason I wanted to work in the hobby.

Which species do you most enjoy keeping and why?

I enjoy keeping Marines the most the challenge and satisfactions of having my very own corner of the ocean is amazing.

Which species was the trickiest or challenging for you to keep and why?

Keeping a Moorish idol was the trickiest fish I have kept getting them to feed and remain happy and healthy was a challenge.

Which species haven’t you had a chance to keep yet but dream of having one day?

I would love to have the chance to keep bamboo sharks.

What pearl of wisdom would you give to first-time Fishkeepers?

Start simple, start by making a routine and progress slowly

What would be your dream aquarium?

Ea reef pro 1500.

What was your most memorable fishkeeping experience?

Breeding angles for the first time.

What’s your favourite aspect of your work at Maidenhead Aquatics?

Helping our customers with there fish tanks, everyone’s tank is different and two problems are never the same.

What question do customers ask you most often?

Is it hard to keep marines?

What’s your favourite/most useful piece of fishkeeping equipment and why?

JBL aqua T, these are amazing they make cleaning the glass on your tank so quick and easy and that I am quite short the longer handle on them makes it easy to reach the bottom of taller tanks.

What’s your top tip for customers taking their first plunge into marine fishkeeping?

Do your research and have a clear path on what you would like to achieve from your tank.

Which aquatic habitat, like the Amazon or the Red Sea, would you most like to visit?

Defiantly the red sea.

What’s the most rewarding experience you’ve had at Maidenhead Aquatics?

Helping the younger generation with the fish keeping, seeing them so keen and interested in the hobby is very rewarding.

What species would you recommend for a child’s first aquarium?

Guppies.

What’s the most unique species you’ve ever cared for at Maidenhead Aquatics?

Seahorses.

Which of the fish in your store has the most character?

Big albert the pangasius.

Which wild species do you find the most bizarre, interesting or impressive?

The fish I find most impressive is the porcupine puffer.

What’s your secret fishkeeping “top tip”?

Simplicity, water changes and regular maintenance.

What do you think is the future of fishkeeping and what developments would you most like to see?

More marine captive fish Breeding.

How many aquariums do you currently keep at home, and what are these?

I have one aquarium at home, and it is a EA reef 900 pro.
