Fish who develop fungus disease is already in a vulnerable state, the result of other serious health problems or attacks, such as parasites, a physical injury or a bacterial infection.
White spot is a protozoan parasite; the adults live on the fish and appear as tiny white spots, parasites usually attack fish that are stressed, which can be caused by factors including rapid temperature and pH fluctuations. The adult has a complex life cycle which results in hundreds of free-swimming juveniles looking for a host fish to infest.
Anti-White Spot & Fungus is a 7-day course of treatment which will eradicate white spot, other larger parasites & fungal growths which appear as cotton-wool-like growths.

Nearly all the disease treatments available to fishkeepers have organic active ingredients (even those which claim to contain no chemicals). These organic chemicals are removed by adsorbent filter media such as carbon and zeolite, so remove these before adding a treatment to ensure the treatment is not removed before it has time to be effective. As a general rule of thumb, the filter mediums can be returned to the filter 7 days after the final dose of treatment has been added, but be sure to consult the instructions to see if the product requires more or less time to work.
It is also worth turning all UV systems off, increasing aeration and monitoring feeding closely don't overfeed if the fish are not wanting to eat as this can lead to further problems.
