Fluval is a world leader in quality aquatic products - for over 30 years it has earned the trust of fishkeepers through constant innovation. We want to share this passion with the next generation of young fish keepers by taking part in Maidenhead Aquatic’s Fishkeeper Fry programme. It’s a great way to introduce primary school children to the responsibilities of caring for pets and help keep the fishkeeping hobby alive for generations to come. We are pleased to support the programme by supplying a free Fluval Flex 57L aquarium for all schools who participate to help encourage primary school children learn about the biology behind the aquatic ecosystem.

The Fluval Flex 57L provides contemporary styling with its distinctive curved front. The tank is equipped with a powerful 3-stage filtration and an infrared remote control that allows you to select between several colours and special effects. The Flex aquarium is a perfect first aquarium where children can independently care for their own aquatic universe and inspire their imagination.

As with any hobby, the more you know about it, the more enjoyment it will bring. So here are a few of our top tips to help children get started with their new aquarium.

Pick a spot away from direct sunlight, windows and heating.

  • Keep the water healthy by adding a dechlorinator and biological supplement and use a filter to remove any toxins.
  • Keep your tank clean – not only will you be able to see your fish better, but it will keep them happy and healthy.
  • Don’t overfeed your fish, just in pinch is enough.

Fluval wishes this year’s participants all the best in beginning of their fish keeping adventure; it’s a truly amazing and rewarding hobby that’s sure to spark their imagination in the classroom.
