The EFX System Advantages:

The EFX filters combine the latest technology to provide a quiet and efficient filter that delivers what you expect – superb water quality

The combination of multiple media’s ensures the balance of mechanical, chemical and biological processes ensure healthy water conditions in your aquarium. Water enters the filter and is pumped to the base of the canister filter where it is evenly distributed across the base. From there it flows upwards firstly through the 15ppi Course Foam to extract the larger particles. 2nd phase is the Activated Carbon Module which traps the finer particles, helps remove dissolved organic matter. Carbon also removes chloramines, Chlorine, heavy metals as well as helping to maintain clear water by removing ‘dyes’ from the water. Water then passes to the Advanced Biological Media which is where most of the transformation of ammonia and nitrites will take place through specific bacteria that will colonise on the extremely porous surface of this excellent media. In the final chamber of the filter the water first travels through a Medium Foam that provides additional biological filtration properties. The Phosphate Removal Pad removes unwanted phosphates from the water helping to eliminate algae and slime growth in the aquarium. It improves water quality and reduces maintenance requirements. Finally the White Wool Filter Pad removes microscopic particles and polished the water before it returns to the aquarium.

The integrated Quick Release Tap System means mess free, fast and simple removal of the filter unit for your regular maintenance.

The AquaManta EFX range- the complete filtration system includes all fittings required for easy set up on any aquarium

AquaManta EFX 300 External Filter

My old Fluval filter had just about given up the ghost.. Spoke to Charlotte at Wigan MA and was shown one running, so quietly I could hardly hear it. Set up was easy and my fish wondered what had hit them when the flow came through, Twice as powerful as my old Fluval. Water took a while to clear up but is now very clear and the fish have now got used to swimming in the flow

Pleased with the filter overall, but my tap water comes out at 1-3 for my phosphate and the phosphate pad in the filter only takes it down to just under 1 thus giving me problems with algae. Would two pads help?

i purchased the efx 300 from my local maidenhead aquatics (Braintree) on recommendation of the staff for my new 200l tank the the recommended i use the 300 over the 200 im really pleased with it very easy to setup and maintain.

Top tip for priming the first time press the button once with no pipes connected as the first press is really stiff after that connect all pipes and press with your palm it will still be stiff but no where near as bad

EFX300 filter. Quality & Quiet...

by on
I purchased the Efx300 from your MA within Grantham. However on completing the on line Extended guarantee, I noticed your drop down option did not give you the option to choose MA in Grantham. So I opted for Lincoln instead. One of your team members recommended this unit at your new Grantham stores (Belton woods). As I have a 170 litre tank, I decided to have a very large filter to cope with my Oscars. Like Danny, I too found the prime butten very stiff. Furthermore I recommend renaming the butten from Start to Push/prime. I had to push this button by hand than by thump which was the recommendation. In the end, it did move and the water balanced it self and soon the filter was in operation. I too love this filter. Quality of build good. Within two hours the water was clear and I could see the fish love the increased filtered water. Excellent product. Regards Stephen Boots

Very Good

I was sold one of these in July 2013 with an 135l aquamanta tank that i was buying. It is easy to set up and use and I haven't had any problems - it's still running super quiet and efficiently - good job MA :)

Straightforward

I upgraded from the 200 with the Eco80 tank set.

Went together pretty easily. The prime button was a bit stiff but persistence paid off.

There was a lot of air entering into the system, I found the connector leading back to the bed for the inlet (just above the water surface) had a very loose fitting. One to check, just got a new O ring.

It's super quiet has a nice effect. Just look for the loose fixings.

External filter

After recent filter problems i decided to shell out some cash on a filter with ~1000lph flow. After much checking of products i opted for the Aquamanta EFX300

What really sold me on this (other than the apparently excellent value for money) is that you have the big brother of this (EFX600 - a real beast) running on one of your display tanks in my local MA and it is really, really quiet.

Having got home and set it up i've got to say i'm really, really pleased with it. It's supplied with an excellent range of media (most of which i haven't used opting for a simpler layout to maximise flow) and the intake and spraybar are very good. I'm particularly pleased with the clear spraybar that fits perfectly and very discreetly into a 60cm tank.

So, on initial impressions it's a good bit of kit - great value and quiet in operation. I hope this continues and i can post an equally positive long-term review! It also looks great as well - seems to be modelled on the Eheim Pro series (the square ones). It also has an excellent volume of media as well as a good range

Hope this helps,
Matt
