Dr. Bassleer Biofish Food GSE/Moringa contains Grapefruit Seed Extract and ground leaves of the "miracle tree" Moringa oleifera.
The ingredients of the grapefruit seed have an antiseptic effect with citric acid and 60% flavonoids.
The leaves of the Moringa tree are extremely nutritious, containing 18 different amino acids and an extraordinary number of anti-oxidants. In fact Moringa trees have long been used to combat malnutrition in areas where it is grown, especially among infants and nursing mothers. Five non-governmental organisation (NGOs) in particular have advocated Moringa as "natural nutrition for the tropics." One author stated, "the nutritional properties of Moringa are now so well known that there seems to be little doubt of the substantial health benefit to be realised by consumption of Moringa leaf powder in situations where starvation is imminent."
Additionally ‘Moringa seed cake’, obtained as a byproduct of pressing seeds to obtain oil, is used to filter water using flocculation to produce potable water for animal or human consumption. Moringa seeds contain unique proteins which absorb and neutralise colloidal charges in turbid water, causing the particles to clump together, making the suspended particles easier to remove as sludge by either settling or filtration. Moringa seed cake removes most impurities from water. This use is of particular interest for being non-toxic and sustainable compared to other materials where drinking water is affected by pollutants.
