On approaching the store entrance you will be greeted by our resident Koi community in the signature display pond. To the delight of young and old alike, these friendly, characterful fish and their immaculate 5-foot deep pond demonstrate the joys of fishkeeping to the onlooker. If, however, you are simply looking for a water feature for your garden then look no further! Our extensive selection of self-contained features, ranging from water bubbling gently over cobblestones to a cascading waterfall or 2m high monolith stone, should inspire you and offers something to suit any project or budget.
Inside the store we stock a large selection of tropical fish including community fish, catfish, Malawi cichlids and Tanganyika cichlids. There is also a soft water system holding Discus and Stingrays amongst many other species. The large tank display room houses a good selection of tanks and cabinets in varying styles and sizes, and there is an extensive dry goods section devoted to tropicals and marines, stocking filtration and coldwater accessories. A selection of top quality Japanese Koi and native-bred pond fish are displayed attractively in separate holding systems indoors.
We are proud to have a close, long-standing relationship with nearby Marwell Zoo for whom we have donated and installed a large 2m x 1.5m x 1.5m display aquarium in their ‘Into Africa Phase 2’ enclosure. Naturally, in keeping with the building’s theme, this houses a large, colourful community of Lake Malawi Cichlids and Synodontis catfish. In Marwell’s Tropical House pond we have donated adult redtail catfish, pacu and giraffenose catfish as part of Maidenhead Aquatics' re-homing policy for large fish that have outgrown various customers’ home aquaria.
