We are thrilled to announce that St. Michael's C of E Primary School has been awarded School of the Year for Fishkeeper Fry 2026, recognising outstanding dedication, creativity, and engagement in the programme.

We received so much brilliant work from our participating schools this year. In 2026, 52 schools participated and worked alongside 44 of our stores. Our stores work closely with the participating school to provide equipment and livestock, while also offering ongoing support and advice throughout the programme.

Like every year, choosing a single winner was incredibly difficult. However, this year’s winning school is St Michael's C of E Primary School. Throughout the whole programme, we received regular updates showing the students’ progress, enthusiasm and creativity. Each week, the school celebrated a Fishkeeper of the Week, recognising students for their dedication and involvement in the programme.

Tappers visited the School on Friday, 24th April 2026, to present the pupils at St Michael's C of E Primary School with their medals and trophy. Every pupil received the medal while the trophy was presented to the class teacher in their school assembly.

School of the Year 2026 visit

Congratulations to all of the schools that participated in this year’s programme. Students, teachers, and even parents have all played an important role in making the programme such a success. We hope that Fishkeeper Fry has inspired many young students to become the next generation of passionate fishkeepers for years to come.
