Waterlilies are the classic water plant and should be included in every pond. The large leaves of waterlilies provide shade and shelter to aquatic life. They discourage algae, by reducing sunlight and feeding on excess nutrients in the pond.

This waterlily is suitable for medium/large ornamental ponds. If you require a waterlily for a water feature or small pond (less than 30cm depth) see our miniature/small waterlilies.

  • Flower Colour – Yellow
  • Flower period – June to September
  • Depth – 40cm to 90 cm
  • Spread – 80 to 120 cm

Care Instructions

You will receive a hardy British-grown rooted waterlily in an 11cm pot. We recommend you re-pot the waterlily using premium aquatic soil and a slow-release fertiliser tab. However, you can leave in original pot for 1 year.

Plant in a still area of the pond away from water features, waterfalls and pumps. Waterlilies prefer a sunny location.

Submerge the waterlily at a shallower depth for 3-4 weeks, then place at required depth.

After Care

Waterlilies like to be divided and re-potted every 2-3 years to encourage flowers. Once established feed twice a year, in March/April to encourage foliage and in June/July to encourage flowers.

The lily is delivered in a secure plastic pack made from recycled PET and can be recycled.

Please note that these species are suitable for ornamental or wildlife pond use and are non-invasive. Excess growth of any species used in a garden setting should be disposed of responsibly and never introduced to wild habitats.

The condition of your plant may vary by order date and from what you see in your local store. We aim to give you the largest and most luscious plant possible but this is dependant on the time of year and seasonal variation.
