Tropical because of the upkeep and the colours.

What pearl of wisdom would you give to first-time Fishkeepers?
Up keep of water quality, change water, test waters regularly and most importantly filtration.
What would be your dream aquarium?
A large tank in built in the wall/between a living room and dining, Malawi cichlids.
What was your most memorable fishkeeping experience?
The day I got the job at Maidenhead Aquatics, and i can turn my hobby and incorporate it with work.

Finding more about different species in the Marine section inc where they come from.

What question do customers ask you most often?
Fish compatibility in aquariums
What’s your favourite/most useful piece of fishkeeping equipment and why?
Filtration device because that is key to having a stable and healthy aquarium.
What’s your top tip for customers taking their first plunge into marine fishkeeping?
Making sure the staff are knowledgeable and the customer does plenty of research.
Which aquatic habitat, like the Amazon or the Red Sea, would you most like to visit?
Red Sea, seeing fish in their own habitat.
What’s the best customer you ever had and why?
An elderly couple, came in brought a Hex tank 60, they was extremely polite and listened to my advice inattentively, and they have come back for products and more advice. I recognise them and them with me.
What’s the most rewarding experience you’ve had at Maidenhead Aquatics?
Having a job at Maidenhead Aquatics and a customer recognising me.
What species would you recommend for a child’s first aquarium?
Temperate or small community
What’s the most unique species you’ve ever cared for at Maidenhead Aquatics?
The most unique species that I have cared for so far would have to be the discus.
Describe the trickiest fishkeeping problem you were ever able to solve for a customer
Due to not being with the company for very long I have not had to deal with many tank related issues, so far I would say that the problem I have faced so far would be problems with water quality and the tank not being right.
Which of the fish in your store has the most character?
The marines have the most character due to how different they all look and how they all have different joibs in the tank.
Which wild species do you find the most bizarre, interesting or impressive?
Marine angel fish.
What’s your secret fishkeeping “top tip”?
Always over filtrate instead of under filtrate.
What do you think is the future of fishkeeping and what developments would you most like to see?
Would be very interesting to see self maintaining fish tanks which are fully automatic
What’s your best tip for building a pond?
Buy more liner than is needed and make sure you have plenty of underlay.
How many aquariums do you currently keep at home, and what are these?
I currently own 1 aquarium which is a qubie 40 which has small tropical community fish in it.
