TMC Reef Skim Pro DC

TMC Reef Skim Pro DC

  • The unique, needle wheel injection system has been developed specifically to ensure the perfect mix of micro fine air bubbles and water for optimum skimming.
  • Compact, space-saving design with integral pump allows easy installation in most sumps.
  • Patented bubble diffusion plate system ensures uniform dispersal of micro fine air bubbles across the entire skimmer column.
  • Unique, innovative air intake silencer offers precision adjustment of air flow into the skimmer for optimum performance and also allows simple connection to an ozone generator.
  • CNC precision engineered from the highest quality materials.
  • Conical body design ensures the optimum water-to-air contact time and naturally encourages the unrestricted concentration of bubbles upwards towards the collection cup for intensive, efficient skimming.
  • User-friendly design, including a large, easy to remove collection cup with drain system, ensures all parts of the skimmer can be accessed for effortless maintenance and cleaning.
  • 5 models available.

Protein skimmers extract organic waste material out the water column. The foamy waste material, or skimmate, contained within the collection cup, is completely removed from the water column and cannot release pollutants back into the aquarium. Since adsorption occurs on the surface of each bubble, a properly maintained protein skimmer provides a near-endless supply of waste-binding surfaces. This continuous supply of waste-removing bubbles perpetuates efficient waste removal without the need for replacement media or fear of pollutants leaching into the aquarium. Protein skimmers help maintain low nitrate levels by retarding nitrate buildup. They remove organic waste before it has a chance to break down and release nitrogen compounds. The use of a protein skimmer is essential in reef aquariums where a very low nitrate level is crucial for coral health.

There are many secondary benefits of protein skimmers, they improve the overall health and quality of water in your marine aquarium. In addition to efficient waste removal, protein skimmers also:

  • Reduce phosphate to help prevent murky or cloudy tank water conditions as well as aggressive nuisance algae growth.
  • Remove any biological toxins released from corals, algae, or invertebrates.
  • Promote proper gas exchange and increase oxygen level for healthy inhabitants.
  • Help maintain proper pH by preventing acidic condition due to carbon dioxide buildup.
  • Help support a large bioload, particularly when used in conjunction with a sump.
  • Remove oily surface wastes to help improve light penetration in your aquarium.
  • Improve REDOX and reduce disease-causing organisms when used with an ozonizer.

We aim to dispatch items that are currently in stock on the same working day if they are ordered before 2.45 pm (excluding Bank Holidays). Orders after 3pm will be dispatched the following working day, unless it fits any of the below criteria:

  • Orders containing live plants will take up to 2 weeks to arrive. We take a week's worth of customer orders and then inform the plant farms of the specific quantities we need to fulfil that week's order to avoid wastage.
  • Pallet orders containing large items like big aquariums will take additional time to arrive as they are sent by a third party. These orders will NOT be dispatched until we have been in touch to arrange a delivery date, this is to ensure someone is available at your address to sign for the delivery. Deliveries will generally be delivered ‘curb side’ within the terms of the agreement we have with our couriers so you will need to make arrangements to transfer larger items into your home yourself. Unfortunately, our drivers are not insured to transfer the aquarium into your home.
  • Physical gift cards and items from the gift shop (such as clothes, towels etc) are sent with 1st Class Royal Mail. Delivery usually takes 1-2 working days, though in rare cases and orders placed closer to public holidays (Christmas, Father’s day, Mother’s day etc.) may be longer.
