We have had a lot of great pictures and work sent to us this year from our participating schools. This year, we had 45 schools participate in the programme, with 44 of our stores. Stores work alongside the schools to provide the equipment and the livestock, not only that, they work hard to offer any help and advice that the schools may need throughout the programme.
Well done to all of the schools that have taken part; students, teachers, and some parents have helped. We hope that the programme has inspired the students who weren’t already fishkeepers to become the next generation of fishkeepers for years to come.

Like every year, it has been difficult to choose just one school to be this year's winner, but we can only have one winner and this year it is Marlpool Junior School. We have received continuous updates every week on what their class was up to, how they were getting on with the programme. Each week, we were sent an image of the Fishkeeper of the Week and why they got that reward. At the end of the programme, all of the students were tasked with creating their aquariums using a variety of materials.

Tappers, Andy, our videographer and Nat, Trowell store assistant, took a trip to the school to award the students of Marlpool Junior School their medals and trophy on Monday, 16th June, 2025. Each pupil who took part in taking care of the fish received their medal. We then presented the teacher, Miss Bishop, with the trophy.

This year it wasn’t only the year 3 students that was inspired by the programme. One year 5 student used to come into the class during break times to watch the fish, and this inspired them to go home and create their own aquarium in Minecraft.
