What is the TMC Reef Flow 2.0?
The TMC Reef Flow 2.0 is a wave-making circulation pump for marine and freshwater aquariums. It’s the successor to the Reef Tide range and can be daisy-chained with other units to create natural wave patterns. With three flow modes and three interchangeable nozzles, you can create nine different flow styles, from gentle deep-sea flow to fast shallow-water currents. It mounts securely using a magnetic holder and offers fully adjustable positioning.
Why should I buy the TMC Reef Flow 2.0?
Good circulation is essential for coral health and nutrient delivery. These pumps are powerful but very quiet, thanks to anti-vibration pads. They’re easy to set up, offer multiple wave modes and nozzle options, and include strong safety features, making them a reliable choice for reefkeepers.
Which model should I choose?
There are 5 models:
Each model has the same features, but higher models provide more power and suit larger tanks.
How do I control and daisy chain the pumps?
Each pump has a manual controller. You can connect multiple pumps together and control them from one master unit, while still making small adjustments on individual pumps. Interchangeable nozzles allow further flow customisation.
Does it suffer from calcium buildup?
No. It uses an innovative impeller design that resists calcium buildup and detritus. A constant flow of cooling water through the impeller shaft helps prevent overheating and maintains performance.
Is it safe for corals and fish?
Yes. It features a protective cage, self-cooling system, low-voltage operation, and a calcium-resistant impeller, making it safe and durable for marine life.
Can it be used in freshwater tanks?
Yes. It’s suitable for both saltwater and freshwater aquariums, and works particularly well for riverine fish that need strong, consistent flow.
